Learn About Me

Welcome to my health & fitness blog!!

My name is Sara Petrucci and I am a family nurse practitioner and health & fitness enthusiast with a passion for helping others along their fitness journey!

I feel so blessed to have transformed myself not only physically but most importantly mentally through my fitness journey. With my medical background and passion for fitness & nutrition, I'm helping others change their lives for the better! There is no better reward than seeing the difference a healthier lifestyle makes for people's overall well being, quality of life, and happiness.

Below you'll read my journey with Beachbody that started over 5 years ago. Their programs and the company's culture have made such a difference in my daily life and mentality!

While I grew up very active, I didn't always have a positive relationship with food and with my body. I battled with very disordered eating behaviors all throughout middle school and high school. I had a very negative body image and I often hated what I saw when I looked in the mirror. I started restricting my foods which left me with little energy, I had a strong fear of certain foods, and I was often searching for a "quick-fix" when it came to weight loss. I was not happy and my behaviors were certainly not healthy!!

Me Before- Drinking way too much!

Throughout college I completely fell off the fitness wagon all together. I let my social life take the lead. I was drinking way too often and not making healthy food choices. I started to gain weight and was always EXHAUSTED!

After college I started working in a sales job I hated! I would come home miserable and exhausted. I often cried before going to work and I'd often come home so tired I would just go to bed and sleep until morning. I was depressed, unhappy, and unhealthy. My boss obviously sensed this because after a few months I was FIRED!

That's when I realized it was time for something to change! I made the decision to go back to college and become a registered nurse. This sparked a change in me and I wanted to start improving other aspects of my life to prepare me for the rigorous schooling ahead.

I was motivated by my decision and excited for a new chance to start over. I decided it was time to get HEALTHY!

After seeing infomercials and videos on the Beachbody program INSANITY, I decided I needed something "crazy" to get me back on tract and purchased it (but man was I nervous about it).

At that time I wouldn't have thought I could do anything like it but it was because of a beachbody coach I used to follow that posted all of her videos and transformations that made me believe it was possible for me also!

Oh Boy was it CRAZY! I remember my first workout attempt back in 2010 (which was just the "fit test"). I lasted about 5 minuets before I was laying on the ground thinking I was going to faint or throw up! I thought I was insane for ordering it and I did contemplate returning it at first, however, I made it my mission to finish. I was determined to change my future and this was the start! I was not going to quick on myself!

I stuck with it and I completed all 60 days. I had amazing results physically, but most importantly I felt stronger than ever and I proudly earned my Insanity T-Shirt! It was really the Beachbody community that helped push me on and keep me motivated! Connecting with others doing the same programs is what helped me stay committed. You may be working out at home, but you're not alone!

Since completing Insanity, I've since done almost every program that Beachbody has created and I have to say, these got me through my nursing program without any breakdowns! They are my stress relief and my "therapy" :)

Through improvements in my fitness routines, I developed more disciplined habits that helped me be successful in my RN program. I also felt so much more energy every day and developed a LOVE for my body that I never had before.  I also learned more about healthier eating habits and I now have a very healthy and positive relationship with food!

I transformed mentally and physically and this mindset change has transformed my life and how I view what's possible for me and my future!

I then went on to complete my master's degree and became a Family Nurse Practitioner while working full time as a RN  in the operating room. There were people along my journey that told me I couldn't do the things I have done, but I proved them wrong! I firmly believe my fitness transformation helped provide me with the discipline, positive attitude, self love, and energy to get it all done!

One year ago I married my BEST FRIEND and together we've both

made such a transformation in our health! He is my ROCK and I'm so happy to have found someone as dedicated to his own health and to helping others! Around the time of my transformation, My husband Ralph made a HUGE transformation of his own! I've seen first hand the positive changes that have spilled over into other areas of his life and career from his personal health transformation.

We both support each other in our healthy lifestyle and together we have transformed physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Ralph Before
Ralph NOW!

I can honestly say that I've never felt healthier or happier, and through daily fitness I've gained a completely different attitude towards my own body and towards food. I've also started drinking Shakeology daily which has made a huge difference in my sleeping, digestion, my immunity (I work around a lot of sick people), and my overall energy and focus at work. My Husband and I both enjoy such a healthier lifestyle now and this has helped us to become stronger in our relationship.

Now I'm definitely not perfect, I don't get to workout every day most weeks and I fall off the wagon on weekends at times... but I've learned that it's what you do the majority of the time that matters and it's the small actions you do every day that add up to something BIG!

I no longer hate on my body, restrict my calories, or beat my body up with over exercising to make up for eating a slice or 2 of pizza like I once would have done in my past. Instead I just move on, continue trying to make healthier choices every day, and continue my workouts.

Fitness is a JOURNEY not a DESTINATION! There will be Ups and Downs but you can get to a healthier and happier place over time!

I honestly love this company and I'm so excited to finally become a COACH so that I can do what I love which is helping others realize their health and fitness goals! I want to share with others how this company and their amazing products have helped me feel my very best.

This is truly my passion, it's why I went into the medical field, and I hope I can help you wherever you are in your journey....and remember, it is a JOURNEY!!
